Music to My Ears

Indians and majority of Indian Companies don’t believe in the concept of Weekend…alrighty…no need to faint…and I am not exaggerating…it’s cent percent true 😎

We really don’t have concept of weekend…for us weekend comprises of only one day and that is SUNDAY 😦 …Saturday is working and usually its fullday :/  …we believe in exploiting the human resources in best possible way irrespective of the post and package…

I work in an International School for 54 hours a week…how could it be possible ‘you are just a teacher’…read well I am a teacher BUT in an International School 😉  so we are breaking the leg :p …it’s a pure corporate culture…accept in BIG Corporations, we do enjoy weekends because you get two days off in weekend package 😀

Now out of the blue, when my coordinator announce in the million dollar staff room ‘Tomorrow (Saturday) is Holiday’ that’s music to my ears…and if they say ‘Diwali Vacation or Summer Vacation would be available for teachers’ then its sheer poetry to my ears…

Yes yes yes…no promotion, no good news, no jackpot rings the bell…the way a day off does…after busting our asses for an entire week…we do need a two day break…where we can relax and have some good time with family and friends…

I hope our HRD Ministry realizes the true value of Human Resources…and make two days off a must in a week…I wish ek ke saath dusra free hota 😉 …Love ❤ AARYA

Ramblings & Babblings

It’s being a long time I haven’t written anything…believe me I want to write…lots of things are running in my mind but my hands are not cooperating…there are moments when I feel like writing but I don’t have access to my laptop…and when I have I don’t feel like writing anymore…God knows what’s wrong with me…

Last couple of months were damn hectic…I was busy with my Presentations & Exams…and my new job…oh yes I started working again but this time corporate walls are not squeezing the hell out of me…I am happy with my new job…by the way I am a teacher in one of the International Schools of my town…I teach X, XI & XII grades…and I am too occupied with my new job…

I worked as a lecturer also but teaching in school is way too different…in higher education we hardly make difference in any student’s life…but in school your every single word as a teacher influence them…initially I was bit reluctant towards accepting the job as a teacher…I wanted to go for lectureship but my Principal asked me to gain experience as a teacher…she said it will take my teaching skills and creative skills to a next level…you are raw you have potential but you are raw, school will polish you refine you…now it’s being three months and I can feel the difference…

I am trying hard to get settled in this new environment…I am reading once again…oh I read Adultery few weeks ago and I loved it…I am also making a promise to myself that I will not stop writing…I will write at least one post every week or may be more…I will try to read my fellow bloggers post as well…this would be one of my KRAs for this year…

We have to set 5 KRAs…one of my KRA is to punch in before 7:45…we have to check in everyday before 7:45 otherwise our half day salary would be deducted…and I have some serious issues with reaching on time…don’t give me that look…I try my best but somehow I would be a minute or two late…but since last two weeks I am keeping a clean record of punching before 7:45 😀                         …and writing a post once a week would be my another KRA…

Well I will take a leave now…my stomach is grumbling…catch you guys later…thanks for reading 🙂

PS…did you guys notice I changed the look of my blog???

TEACHER…more than an educationist…

I have written this post for this Week’s Writing Challenge…

Anybody can be a teacher, by having degrees…but can those degrees promise to be a good teacher???

Before we go into that I would actually like to know what is the definition of a GOOD TEACHER not a teacher…well for world it’s a person who provides education to the students…but for me it’s more than an educationist…

A student spends approximately 7 to 8 hours with his teacher everyday till he completes his education…so apart from parents a teacher also plays a very vital and crucial role in any person’s life…we learn so many things from them in fact I believe till certain age we like to listen to our teachers instead of our parents…

I don’t count those teachers as GOOD TEACHERS, who are just after students who have great grasping power…who are always running behind numbers and grades…students who are good in studies can do good in academics even with little guidance but challenge lies where you need to make understand students who are slow learners and totally dumb when it comes to study…and if any teacher can make changes in their life than he is a good teacher…

Because when you are dealing with average and below average…you need to have loads of patience and very creative to make them fall in love with your subject…

Every student is different from other…if one is good in academics it’s not necessary that he will do great in sports too and vice versa…a teacher always needs to understand the strength and weakness of their students…and with the time they need to let them overcome their weaknesses…still there are going to be students who just can’t make it, so you need to work on their strength instead of torturing them to death for their weakness…

I always had difficulty understanding in Coaching Classes…I was a slow learner so these classes were never huge help for me…still during my Grads days, I thought of doing Chartered Accountancy…so I joined one of the renowned Institute of India…but I didn’t know that I was stepping in my own grave and very soon my dream of becoming a CA would be turned into a nightmare…

It was my first day… I was super excited, all prepped up I choose to sit with the best view…as soon as Sir arrived (he used to teach all the main subjects)instead of asking for any introduction he started the class directly with chapter three, we were supposed to study the previous two chapter our self…he never used to ask anyone whether they understood or not and if you will not complete the given homework by next day, he used to insult students to their death…because I was a slow learner, it became a huge problem for me and with time it turned into a never ending horror movie…he was so obsessed with his skills and talent that he used to feel superior of himself all the time…and if a student was not performing, he used to tell them in front of 100 students “you are loser, you will never do anything in life…you will be a failure in life and your parents will regret that they have given birth to a curse”…

Now how could anyone say such a heartless and horrifying thing to a 17 or 18 year old child…of course a he/she is a child, fresh out of school, ready to spread their wings and wishing to fly high in open sky and some lame stupid OLD FART comes and demoralizes them day after day just because they are not as fast as you are…just because you can understand stuff in the blink of an eye, it doesn’t mean that everyone needs to have same brain as you…and honestly if having such a brilliant mind, means you should behave like a show off all the time than SORRY…I don’t want to have this brilliant mind of yours…

He humiliated me so many times, that I finally decided to give up on CA…he actually made me feel that I don’t have any brains, I am lame and dumb and a loser who will never do anything good in this life at least…

And he is not alone, there are thousands of teachers who are like him always running after money and brilliant minds…but remember one thing, I know I can’t grasp it quickly the way you do…I am not as brilliant as you…but I want to tell you that I am a teacher too…I know when to be strict and when to be soft…I know what to say and when to say and to whom to say…I understand the mindset of my students too…I understand that every student is different from others…and every student needs different medication and therapy…and I try to understand their strengths and weakness…and I don’t kill them to death even if they don’t perform after thousand numbers of classes also…its fine there is no need for everyone to be an Einstein…and there are many people who aren’t brilliant in studies but are doing great in life…students are like soft clay and you can mold them the way you want it…teaching is such a professions which creates other professions…

Teaching is most beautiful job apart from being a parent and you have a new born life in your hands…you can create history and leaders and more than that great human beings…so if you are a TEACHER try to understand your responsibility because after parents you are solely responsible for making or destroying the future of a child…

Every Student can learn not on the same day or the same way…a teacher can create a great future, a great nation if he wants to…

To all those teachers who made me what I am today…thank you…

With love ❤
